Know symptoms of a heart attack, and don't wait more than 5 minutes before calling 911.
Heart disease is the number one killer of American women and men. However, women are less likely to survive a heart attack than men.
About 45% of all heart attacks occur in people under age 65, and
5% occur in people under 40.
Many people do not recognize their
symptoms as life-threatening. Most expect a heart attack to be a sudden,
intense pain, but often a heart attack starts slowly as a mild discomfort.
Ms. Brown will discuss heart attack warning signs and steps to prevent
or control heart disease risk factors. |
